Fotbal

Fotbal, also known as football or soccer in various regions, refers to a team sport played between two teams of eleven players each. The objective of the game is to score goals by getting a ball into the opposing team’s net using primarily the feet, although other parts of the body (excluding the arms and hands) can be used. It is governed by a set of rules known as the Laws of the Game, established by the International Football Association Board (IFAB).

The sport is played on a rectangular field, known as a pitch, with a goal at each end. The game is divided into two halves, typically lasting 45 minutes each, and the team with the most goals at the end of the match wins. If the match ends in a draw, various methods such as extra time or penalty shootouts may be employed to determine a winner, depending on the competition rules.

Football is one of the most popular sports globally, characterized by its rich history, cultural significance, and influence on society. Major international tournaments, such as the FIFA World Cup, showcase the highest level of competition in the sport, drawing large audiences and promoting international unity.
